About Icicle
Icicle is an encyclopedic reference to freshwater aquarium fish. Each profile explains where a species comes from, how it looks, and how it is kept and fed.
What we cover
Every species profile follows the same seven-part structure: an overview, natural habitat and origin, appearance and color varieties, tank setup and water conditions, diet and feeding, behaviour and tank mates, and a short set of frequently asked questions. Alongside each article we publish a concise “specimen log” card with the scientific name, family, origin region, adult size, temperament, water conditions, care level, minimum tank size and diet.
How we write
Content is researched from widely available fishkeeping references and written in a neutral, factual tone. We describe species and their care for general reference only; Icicle does not publish disease diagnosis, treatment or medication advice, nor health, nutrition or veterinary claims.
Who we are
Icicle is produced by the Icicle Editorial, a small editorial desk focused on aquarium and pet-keeping reference writing.
